A rainbow lion in synthetic plush is often made from polyester fiber, with colors printed or dyed in using industrial processes. The Rainbow Lion uses genuine baby Huacaya alpaca fur throughout — the mane colors are hand-dyed, applied patch by patch by a single artisan, and the white body sections carry zero dye.

Spot clean gently with cool water and a mild, fragrance-free soap, keeping the piece as dry as possible. Never machine wash or tumble dry. To restore the mane's volume, use a soft wire slicker brush to gently comb through the fibers; for extra volume, a hairdryer on the coolest setting can be used to blow through the mane.
