Inspired Peru is a 100% Peruvian-owned artisan family business, founded in 2011. The founder's father still hand-makes alpaca stuffed animals in Peru today.
We don't source from artisan families. We are one.
Every piece is handmade by one of our 35+ indigenous Andean artisan families, and every piece comes with a Certificate of Authenticity on which the artisan who made it writes their name. For our stuffed animals, las clasificadoras first sort the fur for fineness and length, then one artisan shapes, stitches, and finishes each piece. Our natural, undyed alpaca pieces are naturally lanolin-free and free from synthetic finishing treatments.

Are alpaca stuffed animals appropriate for children?
Our alpaca stuffed animals are recommended for ages 3 and above. Many families also choose them as first-Christmas keepsakes for the nursery shelf, to be held and enjoyed once the child turns three.
Are alpaca gifts hypoallergenic?
Our natural, undyed alpaca pieces are naturally lanolin-free and free from synthetic finishing treatments. Our dyed pieces, like the Rainbow collection, go through an additional dyeing process. Many people who find sheep's wool uncomfortable find alpaca gentler to the touch.
How do I care for an alpaca stuffed animal, and how long will it last?
With gentle care, it keeps its softness and shape for years. Brush Huacaya pieces lightly with a soft slicker brush, and smooth Suri pieces with your fingers or a wide-toothed comb.
